iyzico Fees 2026: Commission, Instalment Costs and Payout Times Explained
What do you actually keep from an iyzico sale? A step-by-step, calculator-style breakdown of commission, transaction fees, tax, instalment costs and payout timing.
Virtual POS Guide
iyzico
When you launch an online shop or start sending payment links to customers in Türkiye, the first question is usually: "How much of this sale will I actually keep?" iyzico fees are not a single percentage, so the answer often turns out different from what you expected. On top of the commission, you need to account for the transaction fee, tax, instalment costs and how many days it takes for the money to land in your account.
This article focuses on iyzico alone. iyzico is one of the most widely used payment service providers in Türkiye, so it matters if you sell to Turkish customers or work with a Türkiye-based business. Our goal is not to hand you a ready-made price list, but to show you a method for calculating the deductions on your own sales with pen and paper. Rates are updated from time to time, so the figures in our examples are hypothetical and are not iyzico's current tariff. Once you understand the formula, you can plug in the current rate and get your own result.
If you want to compare different payment providers and bank POS options side by side, see our article comparing payment gateway fees in Türkiye. Here, we go deep into a single provider.
What are iyzico fees made of?
Every payment you receive through iyzico typically has three layers of deductions:
- Percentage commission: A set percentage of the sale amount. Different rates apply to single payments and instalment transactions.
- Transaction fee: A fixed amount in TL charged for every successful transaction, regardless of the amount. Its impact is much more noticeable on small sales.
- Statutory tax: Tax added on top of the commission and transaction fee combined. The type and rate of tax applied to payment providers' service fees is set by Turkish legislation.
Any calculation that ignores one of these three items will be incomplete. Many businesses set their prices based on "the commission is X percent" and then see higher deductions than expected on their monthly statement, because the fixed fee and tax were never factored in.
Business vs individual accounts
When you open an iyzico account, you choose your business type. Limited and joint-stock companies, as well as sole traders, are treated as business merchants. For people who are not registered taxpayers, an individual account option may be available with certain transaction limits.
The two account types can differ in rates, monthly limits, payout times and available features. An individual account may seem sensible for testing or occasional sales, but if you trade regularly, setting up a company is the healthier option for both tax and payment infrastructure. Don't decide on this without your accountant's advice.
Transaction fees and tax: the deductions people miss
Everyone asks about the commission rate, but the transaction fee and tax are often noticed only later. Because the transaction fee is fixed, it weighs far more heavily on a 50 TL sale than on a 5,000 TL sale, where it is almost negligible. For a café, stationery shop or digital product seller working with small basket sizes, this item can seriously eat into margins.
As for tax, the regime applied to payment providers in Türkiye can change over time. Check what name this item appears under on your invoice (BSMV, the Turkish banking and insurance transactions tax, or another tax) and at what rate. Share it with your accountant so the amount is posted to the right account in your books.
What do you keep from a 1,000 TL sale? (Worked example)
Let's get the calculator out. The rates below are entirely hypothetical; the point is to show the method. In your own calculation, replace these values with the current rates shown in your iyzico dashboard or contract.
- Sale amount: 1,000 TL (single payment)
- Hypothetical commission: 3.5%
- Hypothetical transaction fee: 0.25 TL
- Hypothetical tax: 5% on commission + transaction fee
| Item | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Sale amount | - | 1,000.00 TL |
| Commission | 1,000 × 3.5% | 35.00 TL |
| Transaction fee | Fixed | 0.25 TL |
| Tax | (35.00 + 0.25) × 5% | 1.76 TL |
| Total deductions | 35.00 + 0.25 + 1.76 | 37.01 TL |
| Paid into your account | 1,000 − 37.01 | 962.99 TL |
Written as a general formula:
Net amount = Sale amount − [(Sale amount × commission rate) + transaction fee] × (1 + tax rate)
We recommend putting this formula into a spreadsheet and checking your margin product by product. When you run discounts during campaigns, remember that commission is calculated on the amount the customer actually pays, not on the pre-discount price. Whether commission is refunded on returned orders is set out separately in your contract, so don't skip that clause.
iyzico instalment commission and passing the cost to customers
In Türkiye, paying by credit card in monthly instalments is very common, and customers often expect it at checkout. With instalment sales, deductions rise noticeably compared with single payments, because the financing cost paid to the bank over the instalment period is passed on to the seller. iyzico's instalment commission also increases with the number of instalments and can vary across card programmes.
You can handle this cost in two ways:
- Absorb it yourself: The product price stays the same and you cover the instalment cost from your margin. This is common for high-margin products and highly competitive categories.
- Pass it on to the customer: On the checkout page, you show the total amount separately for each instalment option. The customer pays 1,000 TL as a single payment and a higher total over 6 instalments.
A common mistake when passing the cost on
Say the hypothetical extra charge for 6 instalments is 8%. Many businesses think "I'll just charge 1,000 × 1.08 = 1,080 TL and that's it." But the commission is deducted from the increased amount of 1,080 TL, so you still end up with less than 1,000 TL.
The correct method is to divide your target amount by (1 − rate). So 1,000 ÷ (1 − 0.08) ≈ 1,086.96 TL. This way, you keep your target amount after deductions. If you also want to factor in tax and the fixed fee, you can take the same logic one step further.
iyzico holding period vs payout day
"Holding period" (blokaj in Turkish) and "payout day" are two concepts that are often confused. The holding period is the time during which the sale amount is held on iyzico's side. The payout day is the day that amount is actually transferred to your bank account.
In practice, think of it like this: when a sale is made, the money first enters a waiting period. When that period ends, the amount becomes "payable", but transfers to your account may only happen on certain payout days or at certain times. So even after the holding period ends, the money may not arrive until the next payout day. Weekends and public holidays also extend this timeline.
The iyzico holding period can vary depending on account type, business history, risk assessment and whether the payment is single or in instalments. Some accounts may be offered a shorter payout time in exchange for a higher commission, so you may need to choose between speed and cost. If your cash flow is tight, that option is worth considering; if not, staying on the longer but cheaper plan protects your margin.
iyzico virtual POS application documents
The iyzico virtual POS (online card payment) application is completed online. The required documents vary by business type, but you will usually need to prepare the following Turkish business documents:
- Tax registration certificate (vergi levhası)
- Authorised signatory list or signature declaration
- Trade Registry Gazette (for companies)
- ID details of the authorised person
- IBAN of a bank account opened in the company's name
- The address of the website where you will sell
On the website side, certain basic requirements must be met for approval: a distance sales agreement, return and cancellation terms, a privacy policy, a privacy notice under Türkiye's data protection law (KVKK), contact details, and products clearly listed with their prices. If these pages are missing, the application may be sent back. Checking whether your site is ready on these points before you apply saves time.
Confirm the current document list and application steps on iyzico's official website; the company may occasionally request additional documents.
iyzico payment links and physical POS options
Not every business needs an online shop. iyzico's payment link feature lets you send a payment link to a customer who has placed an order, via WhatsApp, email or SMS. The customer clicks the link, enters their card details and the payment is complete.
This method is particularly useful for:
- Boutique sellers taking orders via Instagram or WhatsApp
- Furniture manufacturers and showrooms taking deposits or advance payments
- Hotels, guesthouses and restaurants requesting booking deposits
- Consultants, trainers and event companies who want to collect fees upfront
The fee logic for payment links is the same: a percentage rate, a transaction fee and tax. However, the rate structure may differ from the standard virtual POS, so check your dashboard for a separate tariff for link payments.
For physical POS, iyzico occasionally announces campaigns for in-store payment devices. Since campaign terms (device price, rental, introductory rate and so on) change, you will need to ask the sales team whether an offer is still current. If you sell both in-store and online, tracking everything from one dashboard makes accounting easier; even so, always find out what the standard rate will be once the campaign ends.
iyzico integration with ikas, WooCommerce and custom software
Depending on your platform, iyzico integration can range from a few minutes of configuration to a few days of development work.
ikas and similar off-the-shelf e-commerce platforms
On SaaS platforms such as ikas (a popular Turkish e-commerce platform), iyzico usually comes as a ready-made payment method. In most cases, all you need to do is open the payment settings in the admin panel and paste in the API key and secret key you received from iyzico. You can also manage instalment options and the settings for passing instalment costs to customers from the same screen. If you haven't settled on a platform yet, our e-commerce platform comparison will help you decide.
WooCommerce
If you use WooCommerce on WordPress, you can connect by installing iyzico's official plugin. Things to watch: keep the plugin updated, run a test payment in the sandbox environment, make sure your SSL certificate is active, and check for conflicts between your theme and the plugin. Outdated plugins carry both security risks and the risk of payment errors.
Custom software
If you use business-specific software such as a dealer portal, quote and order management system or booking system, integration is done through iyzico's API. In that case, you can design the payment flow entirely around your needs: dealer-specific instalment options, partial payments, collecting the remaining balance after a deposit, and automatic invoicing and stock updates after payment. At Fietto Creative, in our custom software projects we usually handle the payment infrastructure together with the order and accounting flow, because errors drop when payment works as part of the order rather than on its own.
When volume grows: negotiate rates or switch to a bank POS?
The biggest advantages of payment providers like iyzico are a fast application, easy integration and the ability to offer instalment options from multiple banks under a single contract. For a new or mid-sized business, that convenience can be worth more than the rate difference.
As monthly turnover grows, however, small rate differences turn into significant sums. At that point there are two routes:
- Negotiate rates with iyzico: Go to the sales team with a summary showing your transaction volume for the last 3-6 months, your average basket size and your low refund rate. Custom tariffs may be offered at certain volume levels.
- Switch to, or add, a bank virtual POS: Turkish banks may offer lower rates to high-volume businesses. However, the application process can be longer, integration more technical, and each bank's instalment programme only works with its own cards. Using several bank POS accounts and routing payments by card type requires additional software development.
Don't look only at the commission rate when deciding. Payout time, quality of technical support, ease of refund processes, dashboard reporting capabilities and integration costs are all part of the total cost. Some businesses set up a hybrid model: a bank POS for single payments and certain cards, and iyzico for everything else.
Whichever route you choose, a fast and trustworthy checkout page has a direct effect on your conversion rate. Frequently asked questions
Are iyzico commission rates fixed, or can they be negotiated?
The standard tariff applies the published rates to everyone, but once your monthly turnover reaches a certain level you can discuss a custom rate with the sales team. Going into that conversation with your transaction volume and refund rate for the last few months strengthens your position.
How many days does it take for iyzico to pay out to my bank account?
It depends on your account type, the payout plan you choose and whether the transaction is a single payment or in instalments. The most reliable way to check the current number of days is in the payout settings of your iyzico dashboard or in your contract.
Can I use iyzico without a registered company?
Alongside sole traders and limited or joint-stock companies, iyzico may offer an individual account option within certain limits. If you sell regularly on a commercial basis, though, you should clarify your tax obligations with a qualified accountant. Rules differ by country, and this applies to selling in Türkiye.
Who pays the commission on instalment sales with iyzico?
By default, the instalment commission is deducted from the seller. If you prefer, you can pass this cost on to the customer by reflecting it in the product price or the instalment options, but you need to show it clearly on the checkout page.
